在讲“一带一路”的英文翻译之前，咱们得知道什么是“一带一路”。
“一带一路”（The Belt and Road，缩写B&R）是“丝绸之路经济带”和“21世纪海上丝绸之路”的简称，2013年9月和10月由我国国家主席习近平分别提出建造“新丝绸之路经济带”和“21世纪海上丝绸之路”的协作建议。
依靠我国与有关国家既有的双多边机制，借助既有的、卓有成效的区域协作平台，一带一路旨在借用古代丝绸之路的历史符号，高举平和开展的旗号，积极开展与沿线国家的经济协作伙伴关系，一同打造政治互信、经济融合、文明包容的利益一同体、命运一同体和责任一同体。
2015年9月23日，据国家发改委音讯，国家开展变革委会同外交部、商务部等部门对“一带一路”英文译法进行了规范。
一、在对外公文中，统一将“丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路”的英文全称译为“the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road”，“一带一路”简称译为“the Belt and Road”，英文缩写用“B&R”。
二、“建议”一词译为“initiative”，且运用奇数。不运用“strategy”、“project”、“program”、“agenda”等措辞。
三、考虑到“一带一路”建议一词呈现频率较高，在非正式场合，除首次呈现时运用英文全称译文外，其简称译法可视情况灵活处理，除可运用“the Belt and Road Initiative”外，也可视情运用“the land and maritime Silk Road initiative”。其他译法不建议运用。

As a Chinese saying goes, the ceaseless inflow of rivers makes the ocean deep. However, were such inflow to be cut, the ocean however big would eventually dry up.
2.齐心协力、同舟共济
Work closely together
我信任，只需咱们齐心协力、同舟共济，即便相隔万水千山，也一定能够走出一条互利共赢的阳关大道。
I'm confident that as we work closely together, we will transcend geographical distance, and embark on a path of win-win cooperation.
3.有头有尾、善作善成
Achieve intended goals as planned
要坚持以人民为中心的开展思想，聚集消除贫困、增加就业、改善民生，让共建“一带一路”成果更好惠及全体人民，为当地经济社会开展作出实实在在的奉献，同时保证商业和财政上的可持续性，做到有头有尾、善作善成。
We need to take a people-centered approach, give priority to poverty alleviation and job creation, to see that the joint pursuit of Belt and Road cooperation will deliver true benefits to the people of participating countries and contribute to their social and economic development. We also need to ensure that the commercial and fiscal sustainability of all projects, so that they will achieve intended goals as planned.
4.全部协作都在阳光下运作
Everything should be done in a transparent way
咱们要坚持开放、绿色、廉洁理念，不搞关闭排他的小圈子，把绿色作为底色，推进绿色基础设施建造、绿色出资、绿色金融，保护好咱们赖以生存的一同家园，坚持全部协作都在阳光下运作，一同以零忍受态度打击腐败。
We need to pursue open, green, and clean cooperation. The Belt and Road is not an exclusive club and aims to promote green development. We may launch green infrastructure projects, make green investments, and provide green financing to protect the earth which we all call home. In pursuing Belt and Road cooperation, everything should be done in a transparent way, and we should have zero tolerance for corruption.
5.一诺千金
Honoring a promise carries the weight of gold
我国人向来讲求“一诺千金”。
We Chinese have a saying that honoring a promise carries the weight of gold.
6.播撒协作的种子，收成开展的果实
Sow the seeds of cooperation, and harvest the fruits of development
让咱们携起手来，一同播撒协作的种子，一同收成开展的果实，让各国人民愈加幸福，让世界愈加夸姣！
Let us join hands to sow the seeds of cooperation, harvest the fruits of development, bring greater happiness to our people, and make our world a better place for all.
